Valentin Bontjes Van Beek

Intermediate - Autumn 2009

39.103 [39 Bedford Square]
Mondays 2-5pm

Architectural drawings, generally speaking, are the quintessential static impression of something that is, or is to be, in context of life. Animation is that what gives life to the static. An animation is not only an array of images but also the installation of life to an idea.

In this course we will animate ideas by creating and erasing drawings analogue and digitally. We will explore animation technique through documentation and erasure of drawings on a single canvas. This distance between drawings and animations is that what we wish to explore, manipulate and convey simultaneously.
