For the Spring term, students will be introduced to the workings of data driven from a centrally organised source, or simply put, a database. Exploiting the simplicity of database frameworks, along with the myriad embedded functions specifically targeted at structured information in various computational languages, we will work with Rhinoscript to develop projects that integrate the structure of data in tandem with an integrated framework for geometry. As an independent extension to the Autumn course covering a general introduction to Rhinoscript, this course emphasises the necessity of arbitrary data with automated computational operations, rather than those that are purely algorithmically derived or randomly generated.

It is expected that students use aspects of their studio project as the basis for this MS course.

 

It is highly recommended that interested students have at minimum an elementary understanding of the digital environment and the role of scripting in geometry creation.
